Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Dog Groomer to join our team. As a professional groomer, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional grooming services for dogs while prioritizing a calm environment and the welfare of our furry clients. Responsibilities:

1. Perform a wide range of grooming tasks, including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring, and styling, with a focus on meeting breed-specific grooming standards and client preferences.

2. Ensure a calm and stress-free environment for dogs by utilizing positive reinforcement techniques, gentle handling, and a patient demeanour throughout the grooming process.

3. Assess and identify any specific grooming needs or health concerns for each dog, and communicate them effectively to pet owners and senior staff members.

4. Maintain a high level of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the grooming area, including proper equipment sanitization, laundry, and disposal of waste.

5. Stay updated with current grooming trends, techniques, and industry standards through continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

6. Act as a mentor and provide guidance and support to grooming apprentices and less-experienced team members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

7. Regularly inspect grooming equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition and report any maintenance or replacement needs to the appropriate personnel.

8. Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships, actively listening to clients' requests, providing professional grooming advice, and ensuring their complete satisfaction with the grooming services provided.

9. Monitor and prioritize the overall well-being of dogs during the grooming process, promptly addressing any signs of discomfort, illness, or behavioural changes and consulting with veterinary professionals when necessary.

10. Stay up-to-date with local regulations and guidelines related to dog grooming practices, health, and safety, ensuring compliance at all times.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a professional dog groomer, with a minimum of 2 years of grooming experience in a reputable salon or pet care facility. A Dog Grooming Qualification would be preferable, although not desirable if the relevant experience is proven.

2. Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of grooming techniques, including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring, and styling, for various dog breeds.

3. A comprehensive understanding of dog behaviour, including recognizing signs of stress, anxiety, and health issues, and the ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments confidently.

4. Possession of relevant grooming qualifications/certifications from a recognized institution or grooming program.

5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with pet owners, team members, and other stakeholders.

6. Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.

7. Compassionate and patient approach towards dogs, with a genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.

8. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform grooming tasks for extended periods and handle dogs of varying sizes and energy levels.

9. Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.

10. Exceptional customer service skills, ensuring that clients are treated with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
